Senior Design Engineer – Oilfield Equipment

An established engineering organisation within the energy sector is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join its Aberdeen operation.
The position will play a key role in leading design activities for specialist oilfield equipment, supporting product development, technical reviews and engineering improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Lead design and development activities for completion/downhole products
Review and approve engineering drawings and technical documentation
Support product qualification, testing and engineering validation
Interface with management, manufacturing and technical teams on development projects
Ensure compliance with applicable engineering and industry standards
Support continuous improvement of engineering processes and design practices
Provide technical guidance during prototype builds and testing phases
Coordinate design modifications and engineering change activities
Requirements:
Degree qualified engineer or equivalent technical background
10+ years’ experience within oil & gas equipment design
Strong understanding of downhole tools, completions or related mechanical systems
Experience with engineering design software such as AutoCAD or CADWorx
Familiarity with API standards and manufacturing processes
Ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering and workshop teams
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
