Role Overview
An international logistics business is hiring a General Manager to lead its Middle East distribution and warehousing operations focused on large and bulky items. This role owns network planning, cost control, and operational performance for oversized cargo across regional warehouse and transport networks.
Key Responsibilities
Lead planning and optimisation of large-item warehouse and distribution networks
Own budgets and cost control for storage, handling, and transportation of bulky goods
Design medium- and long-term distribution strategies balancing coverage, cost, and service
Oversee end-to-end operations including inbound, outbound, inventory accuracy, delivery timelines, and storage efficiency
Optimise transportation routes and handling processes for oversized cargo
Analyse operational and cost KPIs to drive profitability and competitiveness
Coordinate with regional teams, partners, and HQ to ensure consistent execution
Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related discipline
8+ years’ experience in logistics or warehouse management
Proven experience handling large, heavy, or oversized goods
Strong background in distribution network design and cost optimisation
Familiar with cross-border logistics, customs processes, and regional regulations
Able to operate in complex, high-pressure operational environments
Mandarin and English required as working languages
Willing to be based overseas and travel regionally
Additional Information
Initial base in the Middle East, with potential assignments in other emerging markets
